APC is a professional trade support body operating as a Community Interest Company (CIC). We do not regulate practitioners. We support confident self-regulation for the benefit of practitioners and the wider public.

APC expects practitioners to practise with clear understanding of their scope, limits, and responsibilities. Professional confidence comes from knowing both what you can do and when not to proceed.

Clinical decisions should be grounded in evidence, risk awareness, and professional accountability, not trends, pressure, or unsafe practice.
Preparedness & Risk Awareness
Professionalism is demonstrated through preparedness. This includes recognising complications early, having clear escalation pathways, and responding with composure and responsibility when challenges arise.
Ethical, Client-Centred Practice
Ethics are a baseline. APC values informed consent, realistic outcomes, refusal to overtreat, and prioritising long-term client wellbeing over short-term gain.
Reflective Learning & Professional Growth
Professional development does not end at qualification. APC supports ongoing learning, reflection, and adaptation as evidence, standards, and expectations evolve.
Professional Conduct & Responsibility
APC expects conduct that strengthens trust within the profession and with the public. Respectful communication, integrity, and responsible behaviour are essential. Disagreement is acceptable. Harassment, intimidation, misinformation, or ego-driven behaviour are not.
